Australian artist Louisa Geddes has been painting since 1991 after accompaning an elderly friend to a water color workshop of Lludjich Pedan in Mareeeba, Northern Queensland.
Initial water colours were done whilst travelling to exoctic destinations throughout South East Asia.
It was in 2001 that Louisa immigrated to New Zealand after spending 21 years in Port Douglas, Northern Queensland. This tropical experience is evident when viewing her work
Current work is in acrilics with oil highlights where required. Louisas colorfull works reflect a childhood being brought up on a sheep station in Victoria where nature and the environment were paramount.
In 2006 Louisa attended the Hokianga Art Course, Opinoni , Northland under the tutiledge of Sue Daly whilst living at Kohukohu, a village of artisans on the Hokianga Harbour. Louisa is a naive painter and has just fulfilled a life long dream of opening her own Studio, Gallery at 1360 Beach Road Kohukohu.
Guests may stay at Galleria Bed and Breakfast if interested in viewing Louisas paintings and enjoying panoramic views of the Hokianga Harbour. Louisa will host water color workshops if required.
An invitation is extended to travellers who are interested in an artistic experience in a beautifull landscape. Holly, the resident Papillon dog will welcome guests on arrival. Bookings preferred
